Adventurous Activities

Activities and Helping

Leaders are welcome to join in all the activities. Please help supervise youngsters in

conjunction with our instructors. Our staff are highly experienced and qualified so please

follow their instruction. When on the water, adults may be asked to take turns in helping on board the rescue craft. If you wish to volunteer as an additional activity instructor please bring proof of any relevant activity qualifications you have.

Risk

Adventurous activities by their very nature involve a degree of risk of injury. We recommend that you make it clear to participants and their parents/guardians that by taking part in the visit they accept this risk and the responsibility and are prepared to follow the instructions of our staff.

Weather

If the weather is poor, activities can usually continue provided the participants are appropriately dressed. The Centre reserve the right to cancel an activity or change the programme at short notice if in our opinion the weather puts the safety of participants at risk.

Participation

Once on a session young people are expected to participate fully in the activity. Individuals that leave the session may not be permitted to rejoin the group. Instructors cannot be responsible for individuals that do not want to participate in the activity. It is  expected that accompanying leaders provide supervision.

Behaviour on Activities

Instructional staff have a duty to provide tuition and to supervise the safety and enjoyment of participants on an activity. They are not expected to have to discipline or to endure any form of abuse from participants.

Individuals who are spoiling the enjoyment or compromising the safety

of other participants will be excluded from the activity and handed over to the supervision of an accompanying adult.

Ending Sessions Early

If the session is becoming unsafe or disorderly the instructor may end

the session early. In the event an accompanying adult will be required

to supervise the group. The Centre is not obliged to provide a refund

or alternative activity.

Activity Times:

• Morning Session 10.30am – 1.15pm
