Our Centre

Situated on the shores of Lough Allen in the picturesque town of Drumshanbo , County Leitrim , the Lough Allen Education Centre is set in a perfect environment for all group activities. The Centre is also adjacent to the Lough Allen Spa Hotel.

Our lakeshore venue is ideal for water-sports and the purpose built site allows easy access to all the onshore activities

Local History Studies

Below are some of the activities we can organize at the Centre:

· Our proximity to the lake means that water sports are readily available. We can provide varying levels of instruction in sailing, canoeing and kayaking. All equipment is provided by the Centre. Bike Hire is available, and the Centre can provided guided tours of Leitrim's famous lanes and river banks.

·  Our resident Angling Expert, Brian McGourty, can provide instruction, equipment and most importantly, local knowledge, for both experienced and novice anglers. 

· The Moorlands Equestrian Centre is next door to the Education Centre, and provides Horse Riding and Pony Trekking. The Moorlands also operates as a centre of learning and offers qualifications in equestrian science.

Orienteering days can be organised where visitors can experience first hand the rugged and untamed terrain of Sliabh an Iarainn (The Iron Mountain). The Centre's large, naturally lit atrium with its uninterrupted views of Lough Allen can be configured to suit a variety of needs. It has been used as an exhibition space, a venue of Oil and Water Colour painting classes and a meditation retreat.
